Andhra Pradesh Govt To Set Up Houses In 17,000 Colonies Under YSR Jagananna Scheme
Chief Minister Jagan Said that 17,000 Jagananna colonies were being built across the state and that the second phase of work had begun.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy distributed the house documents to the poor people in Vishakapatnam and Anakapalli Districts under YSR Jagananna Colonies Scheme and assured that the government will set up 17,000 Jagananna colonies that will be built under the scheme.
Speaking at a public meeting held at Pydivada Agraharam, Sabbavaram Mandal, Anakapalli district Jagan said that 10,228 houses were being built in a single colony in the Anakapalli district by providing each family one cent of the land, which costs up to Rs 6 lakh.
He said 17,000 Jagannath colonies will be set up in the state. He said that authorities had been instructed to begin the second phase of construction of the colonies. Jagan said 30 lakh houses were constructed at a cost of Rs 55,000 crore. The land value has costed Rs. 35,000 crores and Rs 32,000 crore have been allocated for the amenities.

He said a house would be like giving a permanent address to women. These houses will fulfill people's wish to have a home for themselves, there will be no homeless poor in Andhra Pradesh, said Jagan. Jagan said 30 over lakh houses were constructed at a cost of Rs. 55,000 crore. The land value is Rs. 35,000 crores and Rs 32,000 crore to provide amenities.
He criticised the opposition by saying TDP failed to build at least 5 lakh houses.
