Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu Releases White Paper On Amaravati, Vows To Revitalise Capital

Regarding Amaravati Capital City Startup Project, Chandrababu Naidu expressed intent to engage with Singaporean government and consortium once more despite its cancellation by then YSRCP government.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, during the release of a white paper on Amaravati, reaffirmed his commitment to rejuvenate the city by restoring its "brand image" and surmounting obstacles imposed by the YSCRP regime.

Naidu stressed the importance of rebuilding investor confidence before advancing the city's development plans. He highlighted Amaravati's historical significance, noting its recognition with a dedicated chamber in the British Museum and its heritage dating back to the Satavahana dynasty. The name "Amaravati" was chosen through public consensus, initially proposed by Ramoji Rao.

"We conducted a foundation ceremony using soil and water gathered from across the state, including soil from Parliament. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone, underscoring Amaravati as the state's central hub," Naidu stated, as reported by IANS.

Regarding the Amaravati Capital City Startup Project, originally planned with Singapore's involvement during the TDP rule, Naidu expressed intent to engage with the Singaporean government and consortium once more, despite its cancellation by the previous YSRCP administration.

"We will fulfill the people's aspirations by navigating challenges and legal hurdles to construct the state capital according to the initial vision document and master plan. We remain open to new ideas and enhancements," Naidu affirmed.

He criticized his predecessor, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, for halting Amaravati's construction in 2019 and proposing the concept of three state capitals, which Naidu argued undermined future generations' prospects.

"This unilateral decision has eroded investor confidence and tarnished Andhra Pradesh's reputation," Naidu lamented, urging reflection on the suitability of such policies in public office.

"This is a case of one person destroving the future of the coming generations. We need to introspect if such persons should occupy a public office" he said adding that as a result of the previous government's policies, investor confidence was lost and Andhra Pradesh's brand image suffered, as per the report.
