BJP Claims Bengal CM Mamata's 'Maintain Peace' Tweet On Ram Navami Humiliates Sanatan Culture

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said that Banerjee is asking 'to maintain peace' instead of giving the message of peace and prosperity.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday slammed West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee over her "maintain peace" post on X on the occasion of Ram Navami, saying that she is humiliating India and its culture. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said that Banerjee is asking 'to maintain peace' instead of giving the message of peace and prosperity, and she is humiliating India and Sanatan culture by doing this.

"When the entire India and the world is celebrating the Ramnavami, the leaders of INDI alliance aren't avoiding to humiliate India and its culture. West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee has made a post on social media appealing to maintain peace, this is demeaning the festival of Ramnavami as on the other religious occasions you (Mamata Banerjee) have given the message of peace, but here you are asking 'to maintain peace' instead of giving the message of peace and prosperity, by doing this you're trying to humiliate the Indian & Sanatani culture," Sudhanshu Trivedi said.

Earlier in the day, the West Bengal CM said, "Greetings to all on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. I appeal to maintain peace, prosperity and development for all."

During a public meeting in Assam's Silchar, Mamata Banerjee said, "If we win, we will not implement NRC and CAA in the state...How many people will be kept in the detention camp? This election is going to be terrible. I have never seen such a black and corrupt election before...Riot is their (Modi govt) only guarantee. I don't believe that Modi will do anything for anyone. This government is a 'jumlebaaz' government...I am not afraid of any threats."
