This week, Upper Assam BJP legislator Mrinal Saikia criticised state minister Jayanta Malla Baruah for criticising old leaders of the saffron party. He urged the state chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to tell Barua to "shut his mouth" as the latter’s open remarks, according to him, have hurt the party thousands of votes.
