US airstrike kills, injures 22 ISIS terrorists in Afghanistan

Jalalabad (Nangarhar) [Afghanistan], October 26 (ANI): At least 22 terrorists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group on Thursday were dead or wounded in a new deadly airstrike carried out by the United States forces in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province.

"14 ISIS militants were killed and eight others were wounded in the airstrike," reported Khaama Press quoting a statement by the provincial police commandment.

The latest airstrike was carried out by the US forces using unmanned aerial vehicles.

Some weapons and ammunition and explosives belonging to the terror group were also destroyed in the air raid, the statement added.

Anti-ISIS as well as anti-Taliban operations are underway to eliminate the presence of ISIS affiliates in Nangarhar province and the US forces are providing airstrike support to the Afghan forces during the operations. (ANI)
