Twitterati goes wild over Trump's 'Fake News Awards'

Washington D.C [U.S], Jan 18 (ANI): President Donald Trump on Thursday yet again created a huge buzz by announcing the winners for the "Fake News Awards".

The Republican Party website on which the awards were tweeted crashed as soon as President Trump tweeted the link, which created frenzy among the Twitterati.

A few people criticised the U.S President saying that this is a "serious attack on the America's founding principal".

The Committee to Protect Journalists came out in protest for the awards and said, "Donald Trump has threatened to continue his attempt to discredit the free press by bestowing "fake news awards" upon reporters and news outlets whose coverage he disagrees with. Whether Trump knows it or not, these efforts are being closely watched by foreign leaders."

However, a few people found the awards a "genius strategy".

President Donald Trump's highly anticipated fake awards were released on Thursday morning.

"2017 was a year of unrelenting bias, unfair news coverage, and even downright fake news. Studies have shown that over 90% of the media's coverage of President Trump is negative," wrote the website GOP that had published the list.

Earlier this month, President Trump promised to unveil the award winners on Wednesday, but had delayed them. (ANI)
