South Korea expands inter-Korean cooperation organization

Seoul [South Korea], April 6 (ANI): South Korea is expanding its inter-Korean cooperation organisation in retrospect of the improving bilateral ties with North Korea.

The South Korean news agency Yonhap quoted an official saying, "We are seeking to establish a new bureau-level organization to handle inter-Korean exchanges."

The South Korean-based organisation is a four-member team which is responsible for affairs with North Korea.

The expansion of the organisation comes in line as Seoul is trying to develop the geo-political exchanges with North Korea.

Seoul is planning to construct an animation industry complex and establish a joint water supply company at Pyongyang.

Further South Korea is attempting to help South Korea's historical sites to be featured on the UNESCO heritage list.

The bilateral relations between the two Korean countries are gearing up after the inter-Korean summit was conducted successfully in April after a gap of three decades.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-In signed a peace treaty as Kim also crossed the Korean border which was termed as 'historic' event by the media organisations.

Further in-line with developing the Inter-Korean relations Seoul sought to co-host a South Korean national athletic event with Pyongyang and hold football friendly games between the two cities.

The bureau-level organisation is also expected to include a department which will be in-charge of handling the diplomatic international relations, especially with the developing countries. (ANI)
