NDMC launches programme to cure anemic kids

New Delhi [India], Dec. 14 (ANI): North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has launched a programme for curing anemic kids studying in NDMC schools.

The scheme will benefit 7 lakh kids.

While speaking at the India Health & Wellness Summit and Awards in the Capital, Mayor-NDMC Preeti Aggarwal, said, "We are launching this initiative for curing anemic children studying in North Delhi Municipal Corporation schools. The initiative will also focus on steps for precaution steps so that these children do not become anemic in future."

Aggarwal further said that the programme will be implemented with the help of nurses working in government hospitals who will visit house to house and treat the children and give them necessary supplements and also teach the parents of these children as how they can keep anemia at bay.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the event, former Member of Parliament and Bhartiya Janta Party leader Anil Sharma said that awareness is required for environment protection and for keeping illnesses away.

"Awareness is extremely important for alleviation of a lot of problems and illnesses. We just need to be responsible for keeping our neighbourhood clean so as to keep dengue and other similar diseases away," he added.

All of the signatories together released the India Health & Wellness Summit and Awards souvenir commemorating the 4th edition of the event.

Mr Kamal Narayan Omer, Managing Director, India Health & Wellness Summit and Awards said, "We are excited to bring to you the fourth edition of the Summit. We need a debate and awareness about the problems related to health and more importantly related to wellness of ourselves and of the future generation."

"We have come to a situation where it has, in some way, become criminal in Delhi to bring up children since pollution has the potential to damage the brains of new born babies," he added.

The fourth edition of the India Health & Wellness Summit and Awards had a great start at the Shangri-La Hotel in Delhi with ministers, healthcare practitioners, industry leaders, and NGOs. (ANI)
