India, Jordan ink 12 MoUs
New Delhi [India], Mar 1 (ANI): India and Jordan on Thursday inked 12 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)s in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and King Abdullah II of Jordan here on Thursday.
The MoUs signed between India and Jordan include Health and Medicine sector.
Areas in which the agreements are exchanged between the two countries include defence cooperation , manpower Cooperation, culture and long term supply of Rock Phosphate and Fertilizer
An MoU was also inked between Prasar Bharati and Jordan Media.
Earlier today, King Abdullah called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
King Abdullah and Prime Minister also delivered speeches on 'Islamic Heritage: Promoting Understanding and Moderation', organised by India Islamic Centre at the Vigyan Bhawan here.
The Jordanian King also received a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and was received by President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Modi upon his arrival. He also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
Yesterday, External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj met with King Abdullah II of Jordan and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties.
King Abdullah is on a three-day visit to India, having arrived on Tuesday.
During his visit, both countries have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for mining and beneficiation of Rock Phosphate and Muriate of Phosphate (MOP) and other important raw materials.
India and Jordan also signed MoUs on cooperation in the field of health and medical science and cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in customs matters. (ANI)
