Vivek Tiwari was shot at point blank range: Post-mortem report
In the murder of Apple executive who was allegedly shot dead by constables in Gomti Nagar locality, the post-mortem report reveals that Vivek Tiwari was shot at a point-blank range on the left side of the face. Initially, the police had said that 38-year-old Tiwari was shot when he was trying to reverse his car.
In the copy of the post-mortem report received by ABP News, it says that the bullet in Vivek's body goes from top to bottom which means that the constable had fired at him from a higher position.
A fresh FIR was also registered in the case by the wife of the Apple sales manager Vivek Tiwari at Gomti Nagar police station. The new FIR includes the name of two accused police constables.
CM Yogi on Sunday talked with the family of Vivek Tiwari over the phone. Expressing his condolences, he told the wife of the deceased that govt will provide all kinds of help needed by the family. He also told that the family can meet him anytime they want. His family is today expected to meet the CM.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had previously said that the state would investigate the incident and would hand over the case to the CBI if required.
On Sunday, UP Cabinet Minister Brajesh Pathak said “some high-level officials are trying to manipulate & hide things. A probe will be conducted against them as well. UP govt will not pardon any criminal, including the police personnel who killed the innocent youth.”
Vivek Tiwari was shot Saturday by constables Prashant Chowdhury and Sandeep Kumar while he was going to drop his colleague. In the case, Constable Prashant Chaudhary, however, said after noticing some "suspicious activity", he asked the victim to come out of the SUV but he did not and instead tried to hit him and he had to open fire in self-defence.
His body was Sunday cremated at Bhaisakund in present of state minister Brijesh Pathak and local MLA Ashutosh Tondon and others.
