Section 144 imposed in Ayodhya as case enters final stage in Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has fixed October 17 as the last date of hearing in the matter, which has huge political and religious overtones.
A judgement by the top court is expected by November 17, the day Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi retires.
With the hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi - Babri Masjid land dispute case entering its final week, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has imposed Section 144 in Ayodhya district till December 10.
The district administration issued orders in this regard, late on Sunday night.
