Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati is an Indian religious leader and freedom fighter. He was jailed for participating in Quit India Movement, and served two prison sentences in 1942. In 1973, he became the Shankaracharya (disputed) of Jyotir Math, Badrinath; following a 1982 court case he filed claiming rights to the position and title.
