Pune: Protests over Maratha reservation, Section 144 imposed in Chakan area
Protesters demanding reservation for Marathas in jobs and education on Monday set ablaze buses and attacked other vehicles on the Pune-Nashik highway.
The Police fired teargas to disperse the protestors and control the situation after the agitation which began at 11 am turned violent in Chakam locality.
Section 144 has been imposed in the area, prohibiting assembly of more than four people.
