PM Modi, Shah remember 1975 emergency as 'darkest chapters in India’s history'
On 44th anniversary of 1975 national emergency implemented by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Bharatiya Janta Party on Tuesday took potshots at Congress party for allegedly murdering “Indian constitution” and paid salutes to those who resisted the same.
Commenting on the National Emergency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his social media and wrote, “India salutes all those greats who fiercely and fearlessly resisted the Emergency. India’s democratic ethos successfully prevailed over an authoritarian mindset”.
