Paddy farmers in Olpad, Surat District, are facing substantial losses after unseasonal rains swept through the region, destroying their crops.

A sudden storm accompanied by heavy rains struck the area on Tuesday night, leaving farmers who had harvested their paddy crop and spread them out to remove moisture devastated as their efforts were washed away.

Approximately 70 percent of the paddy crop is still standing in the fields, while 20 percent has already been harvested.
