Shiromani Akali Dal & BSP to contest Punjab Assembly elections in coalition

Shiromani Akali Dal has decided to enter the political arena with Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party keeping in mind the upcoming Punjab Legislative Assembly elections. This alliance of Akali Dal and BSP will be announced in Chandigarh on Saturday. Earlier, both the parties had fought together in the 1996 Lok Sabha elections as well. BSP supremo Kanshi Ram won the elections from Punjab.
