Police raid Champaran village for illegal liquor consumption, get beaten up by locals

In Bihar's Champaran district, police officers were beaten mercilessly by the localities after the news of illegal liquor procurement spread like a wildfire. For the unversed, In 2016, chief minister Nitish Kumar banned alcohol consumption in Bihar making it a dry state. But, according to a survey it has been reported that Bihar consumes more liquor than Maharashtra.
