Parliament Session 2024: UP CM Yogi Adityanath slams Samajwadi Party over 'Sengol' remark | ABP News
After SP MP RK Chaudhary made a controversial remark over 'Sengol', war of words have now erupted between BJP and opposition. CM Yogi Adityanath has cornered Samajwadi Party and India Alliance in this matter. In a post on social media site X, CM Yogi wrote- Samajwadi Party has no respect for Indian history or culture. The comments of their top leaders on Sengol are reprehensible and reflect their ignorance. This comment also reflects India Alliance's hatred towards Tamil culture. It is noteworthy that the Sengol was installed at the time of inauguration of the new Parliament building. Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted it from the Tamil Nadu monastery and installed it near the Lok Sabha Speaker's seat. Home Minister Amit Shah had said that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had accepted the Sengol as a symbol of transfer of power from the British to India.
