The Central Election Commission has announced the dates of elections in the state on Wednesday (March 29). Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said in a press conference at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, voting will be held in the state on May 10 and the results of the election will be declared on May 13. The Election Commissioner said, on April 13, notifications will be issued for the announcement of elections in the state and by April 20, on the basis of this notification, candidates will be able to file their nominations. Nomination papers will be scrutinized till April 21 and April 24 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. Along with the announcement of Karnataka election dates, in its press conference, the Election Commission made several important announcements for the convenience of voters. Chief among these, now the Commission is going to start the facility of vote from home for the first time for the elderly and physically challenged voters to vote. Under this, the commission team will go to the house of voters above 80 years of age and Divyang to collect their votes. So those voters who are turning 18 from April 1 will also be able to vote. For this also, the Election Commission has made the facility of pre-registration.
