Why is Punjab Police protecting internet sensation Sidhu Moose Wala

Sidhu Moose Wala, a Punjabi singer and internet sensation, seems to have a way around with the Punjab police. One after the other, his offences are either being ignored, or downplayed by the local police. Sidhu was using firing AK 47 and pistol during the lockdown but wasn't charged initially. After court took cognizance of the issue, he was charged under a minor section of the arms act. Why is he being shielded by Punjab police? Watch this report.
