“We Accelerate The Base Of Electric Vehicles…” Former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant On EV Industry

Amitabh Kant is presently India's G20 Sherpa. He is an Indian bureaucrat and the former chief executive officer of NITI Aayog, a public policy think tank of the Government of India. He is a retired member of the Indian Administrative Service, the central civil service of the Government of India. Former Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant on May 18 asserted that a huge disruption is taking place in the electric vehicle sector. While speaking to ANI, he highlighted the government's investment plans to transform the sector. “It's important that we accelerate the base of electric vehicles, both in two wheelers three wheelers… The governments had already allocated 57613 crores for procuring ten thousand electric buses,” said Amitabh Kant.
