Wayanad Landslide Sparks Debate In Parliament; JP Nadda Provides Rescue Update | ABP News
In Kerala's Wayanad district, a severe landslide occurred following heavy rains, with fears that hundreds may be trapped. The landslides struck early on July 30, impacting Mepadi, Mundakkai Town, and Chooral Mala. Reports suggest that 49 people have died, though the district administration has confirmed four deaths, including a child. Approximately 50 injured individuals have been hospitalized. The first landslide hit Mundakkai Town around 1 AM, and while rescue efforts were underway there, a second landslide occurred near a school in Chooral Mala around 4 AM. The landslides caused significant flooding in nearby homes and shops. Rescue operations are ongoing to manage the aftermath and support those affected by the disaster.
