Waqf Amendment Bill 2024: Lok Sabha Delays Decision, Proposal To Send Bill To Committee | ABP News

After nearly three hours of discussion, the government proposed sending the Waqf Amendment Bill to a Joint Committee, paving the way for more comprehensive debate on the Bill. This move also addresses the demands of two allies, the Telugu Desam Party and LJP, who had advocated for the bill to be sent to the committee. Currently, the bill remains stalled for a few months. In today's debate, various aspects of the bill are being examined both for and against. While the opposition has voiced opposition, BJP ally JDU in the NDA has supported it. JDU MP and Union Minister Lalan Singh has also backed the bill and criticised the opposition.
