UP: Rapti River Crosses Danger Mark Due To Incessant Rains In Balrampur | ABP News
The monsoon season has begun, bringing torrential rains to many places and causing widespread waterlogging. Continuous rainfall has also affected the water levels of rivers in the district, with significant rises in the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. The water level of the Rapti River has also increased in Balrampur, leading to flooding in its coastal areas.
In Uttar Pradesh, rising river levels have created flood situations in several areas, including the Kushinagar, Balrampur, and Shravasti districts.
An official statement issued by the state government on Sunday reported that 87 people stranded in floods in Shravasti and Kushinagar have been rescued. This followed the sudden release of more than five lakh cusecs of water due to torrential rains in Nepal.
