Unseasonal Rains In Thoothukudi Bring Relief From Heat, But Inundate Salt Pans | ABP News

Unseasonal rains lashed parts of Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi for the third straight day on Thursday. Heavy rainfall was also reported in Nagapattinam, Virudhunagar and Sivaganga districts. In the past 24 hours Virudhunagar's Kovilangulam area has received 8 cm of rainfall whereas Thoothukudi's Srivaikundam has received 4 cm of rainfall. "The temperature use to be 95 degree Fahrenheit in Thoothukudi but this time in summer it went up to 104 degree Fahrenheit. We suffered a lot due to the scorching heat, many people also had heat related illness. Day before yesterday we had a good rain for about 45 minutes, today also it's drizzling from the morning" says Thoothukudi resident. Stay tuned for the latest updates only on ABP News.
