Union Budget 2024: Aligarh's locksmith industry seeks reduction in price of raw materials

The Locksmith industry of Aligarh has high expectations from this year's union budget. On their wish list is, reduction in prices of raw materials used in production of locks, lower GST, affordable loans and creation of a skill development center. For some locksmiths, the fluctuating price of raw materials they use, is a major issue that is preventing their industry from growing further. Some local businessmen say, reduction in GST on locks will help them become more competitive in the market. Some traders in the lock making business are also demanding creation of skill development centers and special economic zones for their industry. Nirmala Sitharaman will present her seventh straight union budget in July this year. She was appointed finance minister by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the new NDA government, signaling a continuation of economic policies.
