Tamil Nadu: Death Toll In Kallakurichi Rises To 33 After Consuming Illicit Liquor | ABP News

The death toll in Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi hooch tragedy surged to 33 on Thursday, while over 88 others are hospitalized after consuming illicit liquor. According to official sources, at least 20 people have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with six in serious condition.

Tragedy struck the Kallakurichi district in northern Tamil Nadu, as over 20 individuals were hospitalized and at least five people lost their lives following the suspected consumption of illicit 'packet arrack,' officials reported on Wednesday. The deceased have been identified as G Praveen Kumar (26), D Suresh (40), K Sekar (59), and two others, as reported by news agency PTI. The victims, who experienced vomiting and stomach pain, were admitted to Kallakurichi Medical College Hospital on June 19.
