Surat Stone Pelting: Watch Big Updates Of The Hour Only On ABP News | Ganpati Utsav

In Gujarat, the Ganesh festival is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. However, a significant incident occurred in Surat's Sayedpura area during the festivities. Unsocial elements targeted the Ganesh pandal with stone-pelting, creating a tense atmosphere. In response, enraged locals surrounded the police station. According to reports, the demonstrators surrounded the Sayedpura police station. MLA Kanti Balar arrived at the scene, assuring that the perpetrators would not be released and that strict action would be taken by the police. The police have deployed forces in the area to maintain order. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi reported that six individuals involved in the stone-pelting have been arrested, along with an additional 27 people who were involved in inciting the violence. The situation is under control, with the police using lathi charge and tear gas where necessary. Surat's Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot stated that immediate action was taken to disperse the rioters, with around 1,000 police personnel deployed throughout the area. The investigation is ongoing, and any disruptions to peace will be met with firm action.
