Sri Lanka Economic Crisis: What will India do? | ABP News
Sri Lanka experienced its most violent day in recent weeks on Monday, when Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa resigned and confrontations erupted across the country, killing at least five people and injuring over 200 more. According to reports, governing party lawmaker Amarakeerthi Athukorala shot and killed a 27-year-old man before killing himself as the country remained tense amid an economic crisis. For decades, the Rajapaksas have been the most dominant political family in the South Asian nation, but the current economic woes have turned into a political quagmire for them. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has also been called upon to resign.
