India witnessed a record surge in coronavirus count today as nearly 600 fresh cases were reported in last 24 hours. This was the highest single-day count since the coronavirus outbreak in the country. Maharashtra remained the worst affected state in the country. Most of these fresh cases were linked to a religious congregation held in Delhi's Nizammudin area last month.
