Shame on Delhi Police: DCW Chairman Swati Maliwal after cops allegedly harass Anu Dubey
Hours after Delhi girl, Anu Dubey, was detained by the Police while she was protesting outside parliament against the crime against women in the country, Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, said she was shocked to see how the cops behaved with Anu who was silently protesting in the national capital.
"I was shocked when I met Anu Dubey after she was released from Delhi Police custody. She was brutaly beaten by police, she has several wounds on her body. Anu told us how the lady constables forced her over a bed and started beating her. They even slapped Anu and what not. Shame on Delhi Police," Maliwal said.
Anu was holding a placard with a slogan 'why I can't feel safe in my own Bharat' while sitting on the pavement near Parliament gate number 2-3 today morning. She was asked to go to Jantar Mantar to continue her protest, but when she refused, she was taken to the Parliament Street Police Station in a police vehicle and was seen sobbing. After some officers heard her grievances, she was released from the police station.
