On Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Berlin's symbolically important Brandenburg Gate, which was illuminated in Ukraine's national colours, AFP said. As he and Scholz approached roughly 200 people gathered nearby, Macron was asked what message he wanted to communicate with the leaders' act. He said, "complete support for Ukraine." Some screamed "Mariupol," a southern Ukrainian city ravaged by Russian bombardment, while others were dressed in Ukraine's blue and yellow national colours.
