Politics begins over NPR as oppn questions govt's motives | Master Stroke

The opposition is leaving no stone unturned to attack the Central government over National Population Register (NPR). Though the Home Ministry has clarified that the NPR originated in 2011 during UPA's rule and has nothing to do with the National Register of Citizens (NRC), the Congress maintains that 2011 NPR was entirely different and the 2020 NPR is intended to lead on to the contentious NRC.
