PM Modi releases an audio message on anniversary of emergency
25 June marks the anniversary of national emergency imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Most of the analysts agree that it was one of the worst decisions taken by Indira Gandhi as the prime minister and some even term it as a black day for Indian democracy. PM Modi released an audio message to mark the 25th anniversary of that fateful day. In his message, he said one only values the benefits of democracy when they are taken away and that is what happened in 1975.
