Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today is a milestone in India's democratic history. The inauguration of the building of the Parliament of India by the Indians, steeped in the idea of Indianness, is one of the most important stages of our democratic traditions. "We, the people of India, will together make this new building of our Parliament," he said.

"We, the people of India, should take this pledge - for us, the honor and dignity of the constitution of the country and fulfillment of its expectations will be the biggest goal of life" he added.
