No More Toll On National Highways, Nitin Gadkari Announces GNSS-Based System | ABP Live

In a significant move, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced the termination of the existing toll system, unveiling plans for a new satellite-based toll collection system. Speaking on Friday, July 26, Gadkari revealed that the government is phasing out the traditional toll collection methods and will soon implement the satellite-based system. The primary goal of this new system is to enhance the efficiency of toll collection and reduce congestion at toll plazas. By utilizing satellite technology, the new system aims to streamline the toll process, minimize delays, and provide a more seamless experience for road users. This shift is expected to improve traffic flow and reduce the time spent waiting at toll booths, addressing long-standing issues of traffic jams and inefficiencies associated with the current toll system. The introduction of the satellite-based toll collection system represents a major technological advancement in the country's road infrastructure management. It aligns with the government's broader vision of modernizing transportation systems and leveraging technology to optimize service delivery. The new system will not only simplify the toll collection process but also ensure greater accuracy and transparency in toll transactions.
