View In AppPune in Maharashtra is facing the havoc of heavy rains. After overnight downpours, many areas have been flooded, trapping people in their homes. The situation worsened due to the release of water from Khadakwasla Dam into the Mutha River, with about 40 cusecs more water released. Many areas in the city have been without electricity since last night. Rainwater has entered approximately 15 housing societies, and three people have tragically died due to electrocution. More than 100 mm of rainfall has been recorded at four different locations in Pune city. Amid heavy downpours in parts of Maharashtra, the IMD has issued a red alert in Madhya Maharashtra for Thursday, predicting extremely heavy rainfall in the region. An orange alert is in place for July 26 and 27.
