Mamata Banerjee's move in Alapan Bandyopadhyay row brings new twist
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appointed Alapan Bandopadhyay as her Chief advisor after he retired. Alapan was supposed to be retired on May 31 but he was given a three-month extension by the Mamata Banerjee government.
On the day when West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandopadhyay was asked to report to the 'Department of Personnel and Training' in New Delhi, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, confirming that the state is not going to release Bandopadhyay and that the transfer was appalling.
