Makhana farmers from Bihar narrate their woes
Bihar's Saharsa is known for its production of Makhana aka Fox Nuts. The farmers here begin work in December and keep on making efforts till January end in order to reap Makhanas in a large number.
But despite their efforts, the farmers do not get enough returns for their produce. As Fox Nuts are quite light in weight, the cost does not justify the hard work done by the farmers
