On one side, the BJP is aggressively attacking Mamata Banerjee, while on the other side, TMC is rejecting these accusations. TMC MP Sougata Roy stated that the BJP is merely seeking an opportunity to protest and that demanding the Chief Minister’s resignation is inappropriate. He emphasized that the Kolkata police are diligently working on the case involving the female doctor, and now the CBI will reveal the truth. Roy also refuted claims that evidence was being destroyed at the hospital. The brutal rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata has shocked the entire nation. This horrific incident not only embarrassed the country but also forced us to question the safety of our daughters in professions like medicine. Despite the case being handed over to the CBI, there's been no shift in public mindset or effective impact of stringent laws. In 2012, after the Nirbhaya case, the nation united in outrage. Now, the same kind of horror has befallen a medical professional in Kolkata. Such incidents, regardless of where they occur, are a national shame. The current state of affairs, with an increase in attacks even on doctors, underscores a disturbing trend. The local administration's lack of seriousness in addressing these issues is deeply troubling.
