Kolkata Doctor Case: Supreme Court Takes Up Hearing Today, Here's What’s Unfolded So Far | ABP News

The Supreme Court is set to hear the case today involving the rape and murder of a junior doctor at Kolkata's R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital. Protests demanding justice have intensified since the incident, with the Supreme Court taking suo moto cognizance. 

On August 9, the victim’s body was discovered in the hospital, sparking nationwide outrage. Protesters are calling for the death penalty for the perpetrators, while the victim’s parents accuse Kolkata Police of attempting to cover up the crime. They claim the police delayed filing the FIR by 14 hours and tampered with evidence. Thousands marched on September 8, seeking justice. The victim’s mother expressed anguish, saying that her daughter, who dreamed of serving society, was brutally silenced. The family vows to keep fighting for justice.
