Jahangirpuri News: Was never asked to shift my shop, claims local | ABP News

The Jahangirpuri area of Delhi has been turned into a fortress since the bulldozer action in the area. One can see barricades everywhere. On the other hand, a lot of police officials are present on crime spot as well. 

ABP News talked to one of the locals, Akbar. He revealed that he was never asked to move his shop somewhere else for the last 15 years. He added that MCD officials used to ask for a bottle of alcohol and never touched his shop.

Jahangirpuri suffered on Hanuman Jayanti when there was chaos due to stone-pelting, sloganeering and more. Post it, several probe teams were formed to investigate the issue properly. On Wednesday, North MCD took action against illegal constructions here. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation removed temporary encroachments from the area in the presence of heavy police force. During the removal of temporary encroachments, MCD officials removed temporary kiosks and thatches on the pavement with the help of 7 bulldozers. During the drive, 8 trucks and 4 Mini Tata trucks were deployed by the corporation. Along with this, 70-80 employees and officers of the corporation and adequate police force were present too.
