Indian Railways Unveils Exciting Plan To Operate 6,000 Special Trains This Festive Season To Ensure Hassle-Free Travel | Paisa Live

The festive season poses the biggest challenge of the year for Indian Railways, as millions travel from one city to another to celebrate. Trains are the most affordable, comfortable, and safe mode of transportation for these journeys. During festivals like Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath, heavy crowds are expected, particularly in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. To manage the surge this year, Indian Railways has decided to run 600 special trains and increase general coach availability on almost all trains. Durga Puja will take place from October 9 to October 13, 2024, while Diwali will be celebrated on October 31, and Chhath Puja on November 7 and 8. Railway officials have also approved the addition of 12,500 new coaches to accommodate the increased demand.
