India Sends Relief to Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar Hit by Yagi Typhoon | ABP News
India has extended assistance to Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam, which have been severely affected by Cyclone Yagi. As part of Operation Sadbhavna, relief materials are being sent to these nations to help them cope with the devastation caused by the cyclone. This humanitarian effort underscores India's commitment to supporting its neighbors during natural disasters and reflects a spirit of regional cooperation. In West Bengal, the situation has worsened due to heavy rainfall in several areas. The Sundarbans region, in particular, has experienced torrential downpours that have led to swollen rivers and significant flooding. The intense rainfall has caused severe disruptions and highlighted the need for effective disaster management and flood control measures. In Uttarakhand, Pithoragarh has been hit by a massive landslide, exacerbated by adverse weather conditions. The continuous landslides are causing rapid debris fall from the hills, posing a severe risk to local communities and infrastructure. In Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki, the Saryu River has caused widespread distress due to flooding. The water level has surged past the danger mark by 80 centimeters, exacerbated by the release of 800,000 cubic meters of water from Nepal. The rising water levels have led to significant flooding, impacting homes and infrastructure, and necessitating immediate relief efforts to address the situation. These incidents collectively highlight the severe impact of extreme weather events and the urgent need for comprehensive disaster preparedness and response strategies.
