Hyderabad Ceases To Be Common Capital Of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh | ABP News
Hyderabad, one of the bustling metropolitan cities of the country, ceased to be the common capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from Sunday as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. Beginning June 2nd, Hyderabad will be the capital city of Telangana only. The day comes a decade after Telangana came into existence in 2014. On the occasion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy unveiled the state song 'Jaya Jaya He Telangana', penned by noted Telangana poet Ande Sri. Oscar-winning music director M M Keeravani has composed the music for the song. Hyderabad was made the capital city of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for 10 years when the bifurcation of undivided Andhra Pradesh was carried out in 2014. "We are eternally grateful to the people of Telangana for their wholehearted support, and to KCR who led the movement from the front in 2001 and even went on a hunger strike for statehood. We are also thankful to every single party that supported the cause, ensuring that Telangana eventually became a reality in 2014," says BRS Working President. Despite ten long years after separation, several issues such as bifurcation of assets are still unresolved between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
