After Navneet Rana, NCP's Fahmida Hassan has sought permission to read Hanuman Chalisa outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence. She wrote a letter to Home Ministry seeking permission for the same. Talking about it, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Parag Shah said that she could have read Hanuman Chalisa at her home and not publicly. "It is nothing but a publicity stunt," he added.
Earlier, Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana were sent to jail for 14 days in the Hanuman Chalisa controversy. Navneet Rana landed in Byculla jail whereas her husband Ravi Rana is in Taloja jail after the treason case. The superintendent of the Byculla jail informed that Navneet was eating as per the schedule of the jail premises. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena has further attacked the Rana couple. The party targeted BJP too, through its mouthpiece Saamana. Shiv Sena has blamed the BJP for the controversy of Hanuman Chalisa.
