Gyanvapi Masjid Row: Water will be removed from the lake for the videography | Live from Varanasi
The court-ordered videography survey of Varanasi's Gyanvapi Masjid complex has been finished in large part, and the process will resume on Monday for the third day. The survey was halted last week due to complaints from the mosque management committee, who claimed that the court-appointed advocate commissioner for the survey lacked the authority to video within the mosque. The mosque is next to the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple, and a group of women has petitioned the local court to allow daily prayers in front of the idols on the mosque's exterior walls. The survey was conducted under strict security from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
