Following the Babri mosque, Varanasi's famous Gyanvapi Masjid, located near the iconic Kashi Vishwanath Temple, has come under scrutiny after a civil court in Varanasi ordered a detailed survey of the disputed Gyanvapi complex in response to several petitions alleging the presence of Hindu deities and objects inside the mosque. The survey, which was recorded on videotape, was to be carried out by court-appointed commissioners.
