Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tax reforms at the 165th Income Tax Day celebration in Ahmedabad today. Patel highlighted how the "Reform-Perform-Transform" approach has shifted India's tax system from process-centric to people-centric over the past decade. "We all have to work together to eliminate poverty in the country through every welfare scheme. To achieve this endeavour, Tax has become a very important resource through the words of tax payers. The government's scheme of welfare schemes and development is being implemented under the visionary leadership of Narendra Bhai Modi." Says CM Bhupendra Patel. During the event organised by the Income Tax Department, Patel honored several taxpayers under the "Honouring the Honest" initiative. The Chief Minister also spotlighted Gujarat's performance, revealing that the state contributed ₹64,000 crore in tax collection for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
