Gen Bipin Rawat becomes India's first Chief of Defence Staff

ndian Army chief General Bipin Rawat has been named as India's first Chief of Defence Staff. Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar tweeted, 'The big strategic decision by Government towards the country's robust defence and safety- Gen Bipin Rawat named as the country's first Chief of Defence Staff!' Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Naravane, presently the Vice Chief of Army Staff, will take over as Army chief.
